About the Role:
As Visual Manager, you will own the overall visual merchandising strategy and execution across the store, ensuring every display, layout and focal point reflects brand guidelines and maximises sales. You will work closely with store and department managers to align visual priorities with trading needs, seasonal campaigns and promotional activity. Your work will directly influence customer engagement, conversion and the overall look and feel of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, implement and maintain all in-store visual merchandising, window schemes and floor layouts in line with brand guidelines and trading priorities.
* Create impactful product displays and focal areas that drive sales, highlight key ranges and support marketing campaigns.
* Regularly review store layouts and product adjacencies to optimise customer flow, space utilisation and commercial performance.
* Lead and coach store teams on visual standards, styling, product presentation and replenishment to ensure consistency.
* Manage the set-up and execution of seasonal launches, promotions and events, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
* Conduct regular walk-throughs and audits to identify opportunities to improve visual impact and correct any non-compliance.
* Collaborate with head office visual teams to feedback store insights, implement new concepts and support rollouts.
* Coordinate workload, scheduling and priorities for visual activities to minimise disruption to trading.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Visual Manager, Visual Merchandiser or similar visual leadership role within a busy retail environment.
* Strong track record of delivering high visual standards that drive commercial results and enhance customer experience.
* Confident in interpreting and applying brand guidelines while adapting to store-specific trading needs.
* Excellent planning, organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience influencing and guiding store teams.
* Solid understanding of retail KPIs and how visual merchandising impacts sales performance.
* Comfortable working hands-on, including out-of-hours work when required for floor moves and campaign changes.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with store management and head office stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in high-footfall, flagship or city-centre retail environments.
* Background in fashion, lifestyle or department store retail.
* Knowledge of basic space planning tools or planograms.
* Experience contributing to or implementing new visual concepts and store layouts.
* Creative flair with an eye for detail, colour, styling and trends.
Qualifications:
* Secondary level education or equivalent as a minimum.
* Further education in Visual Merchandising, Retail Management, Design or a related field is highly advantageous.
* Professional training or certification in visual merchandising or retail operations is desirable.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in retail or visual disciplines is preferred.
